Partner program terms

Cambodia Monitor pays partners — creators, influencers, analysts and community publishers — a share of subscription revenue for readers they refer. You share your personal referral link (for example https://www.cambodia-monitor.com/?ref=yourcode) with your community: articles, Telegram channels, Facebook groups, classrooms. When a reader who arrived through your link becomes a paying subscriber, you earn a commission on the money they pay us.

The journey: apply → approval → share your link → qualifying purchases → payout.

The commission rate is 50% of eligible revenue. It applies for the first 12 calendar months counted from each referred customer's first successful paid subscription transaction — not from when they clicked or started a free trial. After the 12-month window ends, further payments from that customer earn no commission.

One partner per customer, locked at the customer's first successful paid transaction. Cancellation, reactivation or a new subscription for the same customer does not restart the 12-month window.

Examples: a referred reader on the $9 monthly plan earns you $4.50 per payment; a $90 annual plan earns you $45; ten qualifying annual purchases earn $450 before any reversals. Any earnings estimates are hypothetical — no income is guaranteed.

Eligible revenue is the subscription amount actually collected after discounts and credits, excluding sales tax and excluding refunded or disputed amounts.

Payment processing fees remain Cambodia Monitor's cost; they are not deducted from your commission basis.

Only new paying customers qualify. An existing free account qualifies only if that person has never previously paid for a subscription. No commissions are earned for clicks, sign-ups, free trials, failed payments or zero-value transactions.

Referral codes identify partners only. They do not give referred readers any automatic discount.

Every commission is held for 30 days from the date of the payment it comes from. During the hold it shows as pending; after 30 days it becomes available. The hold protects against refunds, disputes and payment failures.

Payouts are made monthly, with a $25 minimum balance; smaller balances carry forward to the next cycle. Payout eligibility requires completed refund and dispute checks and confirmation that the corresponding merchant funds are available.

We pay by ABA or local bank transfer, Wise, or PayPal — the method you chose when applying. Payouts are made in US dollars and each one is recorded in your partner dashboard with the amount, method and the transfer reference of the actual transfer. A payout is marked paid only after the transfer has actually been made.

You are responsible for any taxes due on your commission income and for any fees your bank or payment provider charges.

A reader is attributed to you when they open Cambodia Monitor through your referral link. Referral links are remembered for 30 days; the first approved partner whose link the reader used is credited. If a reader deliberately enters a valid partner code before subscribing, that code takes precedence. Attribution is locked at the customer's first successful paid transaction and survives sign-up, Google sign-in and the 7-day free trial.

You cannot refer yourself. Commissions from your own subscriptions are not paid.

Applying is free. Applications are approved automatically when submitted, and your referral link starts earning right away. We may reject or suspend a partner for spam, misleading claims about Cambodia Monitor, impersonating the site, cookie stuffing, fabricated accounts, unauthorized use of our brand in ads, or any attempt to fabricate referrals. A suspended partner keeps the balance already earned; it is paid out once it passes the minimum and the hold has passed, after refund and dispute checks.

Promote Cambodia Monitor accurately. Do not promise earnings or outcomes we have not published, do not use deceptive links, and do not send unsolicited bulk email ("spam"). Because you earn a commission, you must clearly disclose your referral relationship to your audience — for example "I earn a commission if you subscribe through my link". Your commissions and participation can be ended for violations.

A commission is created only when a payment is actually confirmed by our payment provider (Paddle). Failed or zero-value payments never earn a commission. If a payment is later refunded or a dispute is upheld, the matching commission is reversed — withheld before payout if still pending, or offset against your future earnings if already paid. A cancellation without a refund does not reverse a commission for a validly paid period.

We may change the commission rate, hold period, minimum payout or these terms. Changes apply to payments made after the change; commissions already earned stay at the rate in force when the payment happened. We may close the program to new applications at any time; approved partners keep earning under the terms in force.
