Company directory FAQ

How the Cambodia Monitor company directory is built, how profiles are reviewed, and how to suggest a company — in plain answers.

What is the company directory?

The company directory at cambodia-monitor.com/companies is a browsable list of Cambodian companies and business groups. Each entry can show the company's description, its official website, the key people linked to it from reviewed profiles, and stored news stories that name it — every item with a link back to the original source. You can search by name, filter by sector, and sort alphabetically or by most recently reviewed.

Where does the information come from?

Only from sources we can point to. That means the company's own website, official records and registries, regulator and exchange filings, government announcements, and established news reporting. The exact wording we relied on is saved alongside each profile with a link to the original source, so you can check every claim yourself. We do not use anonymous tips as a basis for a profile.

Do you estimate owners' wealth or company value?

No. We do not publish estimated net worth or company valuations, because there is no reliable public data for private Cambodian companies and guessing would be misleading. Where a figure exists in an official record or a company's own filing, we cite that record directly.

What does 'unconfirmed' mean next to a title?

Honours such as the Oknha title are only marked as held when we have checked an official source such as a Royal Palace decree or the Oknha Association. If a company's website describes someone with a title but we have not seen the official record, we label the title 'unconfirmed' rather than repeating the claim as fact.

How are profiles reviewed before they are published?

Nothing appears in the directory until a profile has been written, checked against its saved sources, and approved by the editor. Profiles record when they were last reviewed, so you can see how fresh the information is. If a company's own website changes or a better official source appears, the profile is updated and the review date moves forward.

How do you decide which companies to include?

We start with companies whose activities are a matter of public record — firms with an official website, listed companies, licensed institutions, and groups that appear in official announcements or established reporting. Inclusion is not paid and cannot be bought: a company cannot pay to appear in, or be removed from, the directory.

How do I submit or suggest a company?

Email admin@cambodia-monitor.com with the company's name, its official website, and a link to an official source (company page, registry entry, filing or government announcement) that supports what you want included. We then read the company's own site and the official records ourselves before writing anything — a suggestion is a starting point, not a published fact.

Can companies send us their own description?

Yes, and many do — but a company's own description is treated as company-reported information. It is used only where it can be checked against the company's official website or filings, and it is labelled with its source like everything else in the profile.

What if information about a company is wrong or out of date?

Tell us and we will re-check it. Use the corrections page at cambodia-monitor.com/people/corrections or email admin@cambodia-monitor.com, ideally with a link to the official source that contradicts what we published. Verified corrections are applied to the profile and its review date is updated.

Is the directory free to read?

Yes. Browsing companies, the key people and the stored stories in the directory is free for everyone. Our paid Professional subscription covers the market dashboard, the daily brief, in-depth analysis and the Professional-only calendar — not the directory.
